PMP® Academy

 

Our most popular educational program is the PMP® Academy. It is a 10-day training course preparing the participants thoroughly to obtain the prestigious, international Project Management Professional (PMP)® certificate.  The program consists of 5 two day training sessions during which the participants get to know the secrets of modern project management. The participation at the PMP® Academy guarantees 70 Contact hours/PDUs. The training is based on the best project management practices included in the, "A Guide to the Project Management Body of Knowledge" (PMBOK® Guide) - Fourth Edition, Project management Institutre, Inc.,2008.

Two equivalent aims of the program are:

  • to prepare the participants to deliver the most effective project management in accordance to a defined scope, on time, within budget, and with the clients’ full satisfaction,

  • to prepare participants to gain the most prestigious certification in project management sector - Project Management Professional (PMP)®. For those participants who don’t meet the sufficient standard to get the PMP® certificate, the program is a very effective preparation for certification as a Certified Associate In Project Management (CAPM)®.

The program is being realized in Polish and English. The Polish program partly consists of English expressions in order to prepare the participants effectively for taking the PMP® exam, which is currently not available in Polish. Each workshops’ session is summarized with a short test exam (questions are similar to those on PMP® exam), in order to check the knowledge’s level of the participants. The participants of PMP Academy receive certification that confirms their participation on the 70 hours course accredited by Project Management Institute.

1. Managing Projects in Organizations

Duration: 2 days (14 hours) - 14 Contact hours/PDUs

Aims:

  1. Presentation of PMI® project management standards
  2. Preparing for professional project management
  3. To carry out the simulation of client's project using the PMI® standards

Description:

The participants are divided into project teams in order to take part in two day, interactive simulations of managing a project according to PMI® standards. The training starts with the presentation of the main concepts and roles connected to project management. Following this, the simulation of the particular project management processes starts (initiating, planning, realization, monitoring and controlling, closure). The training consists of: theory and practice, what helps to understand the particular aspects. Every one of the participants takes the role of the manager of the simulated project at some stage in the process.

2. Scope, Schedule and Costs Management

Duration: 2 days (14 hours) - 14 Contact hours/PDUs

Aims:

  1. Initial presentation of the process' analysis of client's requirements in the project
  2. Presentation of the scope, schedule and cost management processes in the project
  3. Presentation the relation of three main project's restrictions
  4. Application the Earned Value technique for following the project's status


Description:

The participants investigate the management secrets of the three main project restrictions: scope, time and cost. The skillful connection of these three knowledge's areas is the critical condition for success of every project. We also present the basics of business analysis and requirements management, as an element of scope management. Practical workshops about using the Earned Value technique prepare the project managers to use it to monitor the progress of project work during their real projects.

Aims:

  1. Presentation and practice exercises of using the risk and quality's management processes
  2. Presentataion of qualitative school's theories recommended by PMI® and used in projects management
  3. Discussion of a proper qualitative project management process


Description:

Every business project is connected to risk. Often, the higher the project's risk the bigger potential advantages for an organization. Effective project risk management in view of  likelyhood and impact is the main competence of an effective project manager. Project quality management is an orderly action in order to fulfill the requirements of the project's products and the project management processes. Participants of the training become acquainted with the schools and the tools of quality management recommended by PMI® and get to know how to apply them in the projects' activities.

Aims:

  1. Become acquainted with communication management in the project 
  2. The presentation of effective project team motivation and building the authority of project manager
  3. The presentation of the model approach to procurement


Description:

Projects are being realized by human teams. The main role of every project manager is the work's integration of his team, which requires successfull management and effective communication. The communication according to the PMI® research takes 90% time of effective project manager. Its effectiveness is also the necessary condition of the success of every project. Project management is also copying with problems which appear, when the project's risks materialize. During this workshop the participants become acquainted more with "soft", human side of managing every project.

Aims:

  1. Preparation of the participants to send the application and get the PMP®/CAPM® certificate
  2. Discussion of the 9 knowledge areas in te context of examination's questions and tasks 
  3. Test checking the knowledge from every area


Description:

Our 2 day course prepares the participants for certification through repetition the issues included in 9 PMBOK® Guide knowledge areas and the presentation of project manager’s occupational code. Every of the areas is closed with a mock test, which consists of questions similar to those on the real exam.
